New CME online resources available

Two new resources are now available for NMCSD staff members: Audio-Digest Online CME and NCMETV.
Both can be accessed on the library website's CME portal . For login information please e-mail the library at library@med.navy.mil.

New Journal List Comming Soon

The library is implementing a new journal list which will have some enhanced features and capabilities. The list is not complete yet but it's fully functional to enable testing. We would appreciate your feedback and would like to hear about any issues that you might encounter while using it. Please report any problems or suggestions to library@med.navy.mil

Due to technical changes to Stat!Ref setup its users may experience temporary access problems.

Medical Letter subscription with CME

Naval Medical Center San Diego customers now has access to the full suite of electronic products offered by The Medical Letter.

What is included in this online product?

· The Medical Letter on Drugs and Therapeutics – Searchable database with data from 1988 through the present. Updated biweekly.

· Treatment Guidelines from The Medical Letter – Searchable database with data from the first issue September, 2002 though the present. Updated monthly.

· Adverse Drug Interactions Program – An evidence-based, proprietary database of adverse drug interactions. Searches for interactions between 2 and up to 12 drugs; also includes management recommendations and references are hyperlinked to the original literature. Updated regularly.

· Handbook of Antimicrobial Therapy – This electronic handbook contain articles that list the drugs of choice, as well as possible alternatives, for treatment of frequently encountered illnesses, such as arthritis, asthma and hypertension, and infectious diseases. Much of the information is presented in easy-to-read charts and tables.

· CME (online) up to 50 credits per year included with this license

The Medical Letter is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
