Change in URL address

On Monday, October 13th, the library Website and catalog will be moved to a new server. The new URL address is: http://library.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/medical.html Please update your bookmarks and shortcuts to this new URL. The old URL will stay active for several days to assure smooth transition but we could be experiencing some intermittent technical problems. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.

New public WiFi service available in the library

You are invited to explore the NMCSD Library's new WiFi network using the library's 8 computers or your own wireless-enabled laptops. Access is free for NMCSD staff, patients, and all library visitors as is printing of work related materials. Simply stop at the reference desk to get a password, launch your Web browser and you may begin surfing immediately. (To be able to print from your laptop, a one time printer setup is required. Please see library reference desk for assistance)

RSS feeds for medical journals

The Ebling Library for Health Sciences compiled a great list of RSS feeds for biomedical journals.
Just find your favorite journals and add the feeds to your RSS feed reader. If you are interested to learn more or need some help with setting up your RSS feeds, please contact the library at library@med.navy.mil or call 619-532-7950.

ResourceShelf took a look this week at a handful of niche search engines. ResourceShelf is a big fan of bypassing a general Web engine for a more focused search tool whenever possible.
